Imago Clinical Training in Couples Therapy

INSTRUCTOR

IITI Faculty

Jesica Eames LCSW/JD

Love working with couples.

Enrich your practice.

Deepen your personal relationships.

Whether you're new to couples therapy or already working in the field and feeling stuck, the Imago Clinical Training (ICT) will help you feel confident, equipped, and inspired in your work with couples. Rooted in the revolutionary work of Dr. Harville Hendrix and Dr. Helen LaKelly Hunt, Imago Relationship Therapy (IRT) offers a powerful, integrative model that gets to the heart of why couples struggle in relationships—and how they can heal, grow, and reconnect.

Imago Relationship Therapy provides more than just a framework for couples therapy. It helps the couples you work with move beyond blame and defensiveness into conscious connection. And it helps you, the therapist, let your couples take the lead on their healing journey. Using Imago techniques, you will discover joy, clarity, and depth in your work with couples.

Why Imago?

This training will help you:

  • Understand why conflict is natural in intimate relationships—and how to transform it into connection

  • Teach couples how to communicate safely, without blame, shame, or criticism

  • Help partners uncover core patterns driving disconnection and tension in their relationship

  • Guide couples into empathy, connection, and healing

  • Increase your own self-awareness and improve your personal relationships

  • Rediscover what’s possible when we shift from an individual to a relational lens

What Makes This Training Different?

Imago is more than just a set of tools—it’s a paradigm shift. Our approach helps couples reconnect quickly, and gives therapists a clear, structured way to guide deep transformation. The Imago model focuses on what is going right in the relationship, and how to expand upon and increase the positive interactions.  Many therapists say Imago reignited their love for couples work, and helped them grow in their own relationships. The results of working with coupes in the Imago model are clear, tangible, and fulfilling for you as a therapist and for the couples in your practice.

We’re not just teaching a model. We’re a community of conscious, compassionate clinicians doing meaningful work throughout the world.

Training Structure & Certification Path

What People Are Saying

“Jesica is a phenomenal teacher and is able to break everything down in a way that makes sense for practitioners by giving case examples.  She is extremely patient and it is obvious that she cares deeply about each of her students and their growth as therapists. Her encouragement and enthusiasm has been such an inspiration to me as I begin my work as an IMAGO therapist.”

“I can say unequivocally that Imago Relationship Therapy is the most effective model for understanding and improving relationships. It works!”

“Imago training completely changed how I work with couples. It helped me enjoy couples work again.”

“Training with Jesica has been such a treat! She is knowledgeable, flexible, and has the biggest heart on the planet for her trainees. Jesica helped me understand the material and put it into practical use in my office. She also went above and beyond to help me reach my Imago goals.”

“This training helped me get out of my head and into the art of being a therapist.”

“The big take away from the Imago training was that conflict in relationship is growth trying to happen.  When we frame it this way, it becomes an invitation for couples to view their struggles in a different light, as part of the process of evolving and becoming whole through their relationship with one another.”

“Wendy’s teaching style is warm and approachable. She creates a level of warmth and acceptance that challenges you to go deeper in your personal and professional life.”
